Hello,

I have launched my first kickstarter called the Gridiron Marker. The Gridiron Marker is for football enthusiasts for training or pickup games. The Gridiron Marker is a 10 yard colored rope with an attached marker to keep track of yardage gained and the current down for every play. I have shared with my friends and asked them to share. I created a facebook ad for a boosted post on the Gridiron marker. I even paid someone on fiverr to direct website traffic to the link. I have emailed multiple football organizations. What are some strategies to get backers? It could also be this isn't a "cool project" and not right for people.

Hi, I saw this KS campaign earlier on.

If you don't mind my suggestions, I listed them below.

Did you have a list of contacts or "influencers" in Crowdfunding/your niche beforehand? You contacted them and got feedback?

You contacted me and my site previously, but it felt like a basic "cut and paste" message to me - plus it was on the paid section of the site.

I don't think Fiverr is going to help you much, you need promotion really.

The photos on the page don't give the product justice at all. I'd probably remove the bad looking one plus the prototype ones made from paper.

Regarding tiers, you need to be selling these in bulk really. If you want us to get involved, let me know.

Unfortunately, no we did not have a list of contacts beforehand. It is just family and friends. I have emailed various football organizations in AZ, but did not receive a response. I have no idea if people would like to use it other than the core group of people we play football with do, but they don't need one because we already have one.

My honest opinion is that you should close it down. Perhaps rethink, get contacts and try again.

I could of suggested you buy advertising from us which may of helped, but there's quite alot wrong with your campaign and really the majority of exposure should of come from the first 24 hours which passed a long time ago.

I agree it is really hard to launch a campaign if you havent developed any sort of list before hand. Let me know if you are interested in learning more and I can point you in the right direction to help build your list. There are lots of great articles out there.
