Raid & Trade: War on the Streets

From deep within the wastelands, far from the Golden City comes a new breed of survivors. Forged in the most desolate conditions these opportunistic individuals prowl the ruins watching for passers-by – to either join or exploit.

Skilled nomads, these ‘Hitchhikers’ can twist any situation to their advantage, whether through silver-tongued and honeyed words or brute force and lethal cunning. Having been bred far from the Golden City, some Hitchhikers have only recently heard of the glittering utopia and many have made their way across hundreds of miles, braving unimaginable dangers and hardships for a chance to learn more about this potential prize.

Some consider the Hitchhikers to be parasites that latch onto and leech from others, but for them it is a way of life and the ultimate path to survival. They are wild rovers, moving from one opportunity to the next in search of the last big pay-off… But they are not the only ones who come from the shadows.. Riders & gangs, rebels & outlanders are rising in the wastelands. They tried to enter the Golden City, but they were stopped by the Forces and now they are exiled for ever in the wastelands. Anyone who is trying to reach the Golden City, has to face them and their minions!

    Breaking News!

Survivors, now you enter the Suburb area. Be careful as the whole place there is extremely hazardous . It will not be easy to search the ruins and find what you want.

Most blocks are covered with toxic substances, even inside the Houses. It will be really difficult to raid those Houses, but even if you succeed on that, you will pay a price. These substances will affect your health during the game. You may lose Resource, weapons or even get Adrenaline points.

    Image

But this is not all. There are gangs here, who control specific blocks and they do not allow entrance to any outlanders such as yourselves. Most of them will ask you to pay a price in order to enter their area, but be sure that it worths as you will find some bonuses over there.

    Image

s you find your way through the Suburb you must be careful. The whole place is set on fire and that may cost your life. Fires, toxic wastes, hunters, gangs, undergrounds tunnels, barricades will make your search very difficult and more "pricey".

However you will discover some advantages in Suburb. There are Houses that can give you many resources but to enter those Houses, you will have to pay a cost or even hurt yourself.

    Image

One of the new elements of the Suburb is the Underground Tunnels. They allow you to travel through the entire city. But that depends on where you place the entrances and the exits at the beginning of the game. There will be a suggested set up you can follow in order to use those paths in the best way.

What you see here are the new map tiles on progress. House spot, barricades, bridges and other elements will be added in order to complete them. Photos will be posted as soon we complete those tiles.

The base game works in a competitive mode for 3-5 players where each player can claim the victory through three different winning conditions, but we also added the "Escape from the City" scenario that gives the feeling of a semi-cooperative mode but still keeping the competitive element in the game:

    Image

How this expansion changes the base game:

    1. New Scenarios: Some of the new scenarios turn the game into cooperative mode, where all players must work together against the game, against the bad guys. So the core of the game changes since you can play in two different modes: cooperative and competitive.

    2. 2-5 Players: The base game is for 3-5 players due to the trading element. One of the actions of the game is to trade with other players items or resources. The trading element usually requires more than 2 players and that's why we mention that the game is for 3-5 players cause it works better. As more players, as better since you can get the feeling of the game at maximum. The expansion changes a bit the number of the players using the element of cooperation. In order words you can play the game with 2 players since in cooperative mode you can work together against the game.

So the base game + the expansion give a game that works for 2-5 players with competitive and cooperative modes.
