Hard to get funding for Photobooks/Art Projects

    by TeresaM » Sun May 17, 2015 4:18 pm

I see so many projects being funded successfully but it seems majority of them are in the Technology or Video Game realm. I did a search on photography/photobook and it seems this is a category most people are just not interested in.

    My question is:

What can I do to create a Buzz for a Photography/Art project?
How can I get people involved in something so timeless like a photobook?

Hope you guys like it :-)

My project is called Stud Model Project. I am creating a large coffee table photo book filled with fashionable images of beautifully handsome women. I photograph masculine identified women modeling menswear in an effort to break the stereotype and discrimination against these women. This project quickly blossomed into a cause and movement within the LGBTQ community, giving young girls images of women who look like them. I now travel all over the United States capturing women (Studs) who always wanted to model but are so often shunned by the fashion industry.

Yeah, it is hard. I interviewed a creator who raised a bunch of money for their art book project. Might be helpful?
