eBlocker - Switch on Privacy - our Kickstarter experience

We are currently running a campaign on Kickstarter and I wanted to share our first experiences,
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/eblocker/the-first-plug-and-play-privacy-solution-for-all-y

Our first bummer with kickstarter was that our campaign got refused. We are doing a hardware project and in the guidelines we understood to show the prototype which we did - well, along with 3D renderings. The latter were not accepted and we had to remove everything - and even the cool 3D effects from our video. :(

We replaced everything by photo shots of the same angle and voila - the campaign got approved.

Now we are 43% goal after 4 days. But kickstarter only contributed 30% of the traffic - 70% of the pre-orders came from external sources. So make sure you can drive traffic to your campaign and don't rely too much on kickstarter only. That's the lesson we've learned so far.

Anyone experience with Thunderclap?
I signed up for it and hope to boost our kickstarter campaign with a one time post at once.

Got 18 supporters already - but some 60 are still missing.
I'll keep you posted.

Hey eBlocker - Congratulations on launching your Kickstarter campaign! It looks like you are doing quite well and are trending toward success which is great to see.

I have just supported your Thunderclap campaign with both of our Twitter accounts and I will make sure to add your kickstarter to our weekly tweet schedule. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about crowdfunding or marketing and I will do my best to help you out.

Thanks mate! All the best with eBlocker :)

Hey guys,

Congrats on overfunding, great job!

It's always tough to find the right photos of the MVP to show, and really tempting to just switch to renders.

Great PR work too, may I ask if it was organic or pushed through an agency / own staff? I am trying to get the better idea about what part does PR play in the campaigning to do more research like this: https://proj42.co.uk/project42-blog/201 ... ickstarter
