Is Christmas the best time for a digital memoirs project?

Dear all:
Would you say pre-Christmas is the best time to run a Kickstarter campaign in digital publishing? Do you ever see people shopping for Christmas presents (for their family) on Kickstarter? Or do people always pledge funding for products/services they want to use themselves?
We have just launched our campaign - for storytelling platform MemoryStoria. We are fundraising to finish a do-it-yourself digital book in which people can record their life stories. Here is our campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/me ... ur-life-st
We were wondering how likely it is that people would pledge to get the digital book as a present for a loved one, rather than for themselves. Any ideas?
