Just Launched JABBER - Great Start, BUT slowing way down

I just launched my first project ever less than a week ago! (see signature)

It came out of the gates hot, but has since slowed way down. We're getting 40% of backers directly from Kickstarter, but we're sooo far down the rankings, those are few and far between.

Currently 34% funded on a $45,000 goal. Would love to hear feedback on how to boost our Kickstarter ranking! Magic? Popular?

Hi Jack,

In case anyone can't see the link clearly it's at:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... alking-toy

I really, really like this idea. The Jabber guy looks a bit like a yellow Kungfu Panda guy, not sure if anyone else noticed that.

If you could label it "Kid proof, tried and tested" I think parents would love that sort of thing.

As for getting funded, I can see why people wanted to back you. I think you need a few tweaks on your page.

How about a Tier where people can get a custom jabber? Using their colours perhaps? I'm thinking of sports fans, kids who like certain colours, companies with certain colours...these are all useful things to have and can be part of a tier.

Who did you market this to in pre-launch?

If you need help with getting the Jabber "out there", let me know and good luck with it!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Those are all really good suggestions. I'll try to figure out a way to work "Kid proof and tested" into the description.

Our current custom Jabber lets you upload custom sounds that we program into the games... but custom colors may have more appeal.

Hey Jack - we're experiencing the same - good hot start and now have plateaued near that 30% range. Our own databases only got us so far. I've been searching these forums for reviews on outsourced companies - there are hundreds of them like Kickrank, SIG, Backer Club, Turnkey etc. but all i hear on these forums is that nothing much outsourced has helped anyone. I'm wondering if anybody out there has experience with any of these good OR bad. Like Jack, we're in a place where we need an additional boost - any info would be greatly appreciated!

We've tried a couple different paid boosters. We actually just got on http://thegadgetflow.com/ today - haven't seen a spike in traffic or sales yet. Maybe when the email newsletter comes out...

Other than that, FB ads haven't garnered too much support in US, but have actually worked ok in the UK and Canada. We've been able to drive a bit of traffic via twitter as well.

As company that promotes KS campaigns, I'd love to hear your feedback on how effective your campaigns were.

I know of Backercamp and have worked with Thegadgetflow and Kickrank and they are great!

My suggestion wouldn't be just to go for the big numbers and hope a huge email blast would generate some interest.

I think marketing needs to be focused. For the Jabber, it's all about kids - but more importantly, it's about connecting with parents who have the ability to back you. Finding influencers who promote to adults, then showing them why they should mention/back you and let the traffic grow organically.

You can't really force people to pay attention to your campaign (not saying you're doing this, but I'm meaning in general) as it will turn people away. They need to feel no pressure in looking at your page, have their questions answered as they're scrolling down and feel like they trust you enough to back you.

If you'd like to talk further, I can talk about how I'd promote Jabber :) Good luck with it.

Backerclub actually worked decently for us! Gadgetflow did nothing.

Have you tried or heard any good feedback about Backershub or Kickbooster?
