We're barely a week into our Kickstarter and now we've reached over 44% of our funding goal! The support has blown us away and we want to blow everyone else away with a big, huge, resounding success!

Thank you! Haha, animal pictures are actually the easiest high quality, free photos available for commercial use. And they're really easy to edit as well, which helps. We're actually over 57% funded now! We just need $250 a day to meet our goal by the end; any help would be much appreciated.

Best of luck and hope you reach your goal! However, isn't it against Kickstarter rules to be under 18?
I imagine you've gone about it all legitimately still, or even not, I don't see why the age of the fund raiser should be of any concern?

I'm running it from my company, Ark Storm, of which I own 50% of with my father. Who is over 18 and can, thus, be the legal representative of the company on Kickstarter. Which is a neat way to go about things; you're not getting around or breaking their rules, just being represented. Sot hat's handy. I don't see why age is a concern either! But I just want to get this project funded and then not really worry about Kickstarter anymore. Except for maybe funding some awesome projects once the book sales start happening, haha.

That's awesome! Are you driving traffic to your kickstarter outside of forums like this? I am thinking of things like twitter, facebook fan pages, reddit, etc that might help push you over the edge. Keep up the great work, I wish that I had the drive that you did at 17.

Doodles, I'm doing my best to drive traffic outside of forums, yeah. For one I've been sending emails to bloggers, podcasters and YouTubers like crazy. I also have a Twitter (not many followers, but still). I created a Reddit for this, but my posts tend to get lost in the wave of other posts. My Facebook efforts have yielded some bigger success; I've joined a couple of writing groups and plan on joining more, as well as some fantasy pages and other fan pages. I've been told I should make a Tumblr, but the thought...well it scares me. Thanks for the encouragement, and any support or advice you can give is much appreciated!

Another thought crossed my mind was for you to find out from the facebook groups if there are any websites or forums that align well to your book. Similar to here, add the same type of signature. Then find as many threads that interest you and honestly engage with the members. Dont just spam your link. But engage. After a thoughtful post, they might say wow this kid is amazing, let me check out that sig of his.

Another thought is to find a couple of authors in that same area and tweet at them, facebook message them. Slightly pester. But give them your story. Hey I am a 17 year old kid, and I am at the tipping point at my kickstarter. If you could just mention me, my facebook page, etc it would help enormously. All you have to do is get 1 person who has a semi large following to do that, and I think your over the hump.

Thanks Doodles! I'm going through a lot of the writer groups on Facebook, just trying to integrate myself and do such things. As well as slip in my Kickstarter, but not be spammy. It really annoys me when people do that, so I don't wish to do that myself. I hadn't thought about other authors! I don't know why, but I sometimes think other authors don't want more authors, so I don't talk to a lot of them about my book. But I suppose I could give it a shot!
