Hi,

I intend to post some regular updates to my first Kickstarter journey.

We started our campaign yesterday at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/in ... t-lighting

The first thing we noticed was, spam spam spam. So many messages offering to promote our campaign from a few dollars up to several thousand. I am not sure if this is the best welcome to crowd funding! So after searching on the Internet I found Crowd Crux and then this forum. I am hoping these great resources will guide me through our campaign.

As an existing home automation company that designs, manufactures and sells Remote Thermostats, we already have a following and an email list. Some of our regular customers have already contributed, which is a great start. In less than 24 hours we have raised almost £500.

I have started to email blogs and some of my contacts, to hopefully get coverage in the media. So fingers crossed.

I now have lots of reading and work to do, so I will provide another update tomorrow as things progress.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with promotors. If you want you can list on our site for free in the mean time, if will help you out.

Onto the comments, I remember seeing something similar on KS I just can't put my finger on it. My initial thoughts looking at the KS page is that it's too long. Another thought is "how complex is it to install". I think you need to make it simplier, perhaps say that it can be installed in x number of minutes.
