Just launched - Day 1

Hi All,

A small introduction, we are Dr. Parx and have found a way to give plastics an antibacterial property.
The way we can do this is a way without the use of chemicals (Triclosan) or toxic metals (Silver).

To get our product known we decided to start a Kickstarter project and develop a iPhone cover with the antimicrobial properties. This was mainly due to a recent study by Dr. S. Park where he shows the bacterial growth of bacteria on phones of his students.

Well to get the story not more boring here is our project:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/drparx/dr-parx-antimicrobial-iphone-6-protector

We started yesterday, but the backers are pretty disappointing.

We did a huge mailing to aprox 5000 contacts, we had around 500 followers on Facebook, a press release subscription and then several personal contacts.. unfortunately we only got a few backers...

Now we are trying any possibility to spread the word on the project and get more backers.

Any tips are welcome..

You're welcome to advertise with us, as our Crowdfunding page is taking off plus we can capture emails on your behalf and so on...ok enough with the self-promo...

I think you need to change the KS page somewhat.
- Have your own website, change it from the Facebook page.
- The text is too wordy and the germ/toilet drawings/photos are great, but they are off-putting
- Some infographics would be best to break down the techy parts.
- How long can the phone be protected for? If it's ages, then this should be mentioned.
- Can it protect phone from damage too? Not just germs? Do any drop-tests?
- I haven't got an iphone 6, but this case would be great for me. Will you make it for other phones later (if so which) plus where can people be notified of updates or place an order for their phone case type in the future (hence this is where I thought GIftsandCoupons could help out!).

Also one initial thought I had was that the ridges in the protector surely would harbour the germs? Perhaps you'd need to make it clear that it wouldn't.

I think it's a really great product, the facts are scary and you're offering a solution - but it needs to be presented clearer I think.

Hi Guys,

Great advise...
I will talk with the others to see what we can do to update the page.

Not sure what you mean with the "- Have your own website, change it from the Facebook page."
We have a website active now www.drparx.com and also a twitter account and Facebook page running.

On the KS face you're using Facebook as your default site instead of your site...
