Typical Crowdfunding Challenges!

Hey folks,

Been a pretty active member of Kickstarter and crowdfunding community for quite some time. I actually run Art of the Kickstart and have had the incredible opportunity to interview over 100 crowdfunding product creators, ie it's been AWESOME!

Right now I am putting the finishing touches on my Crowdfund Academy, a step-by-step video course walking people through the process of successfully crowdfunding

http://ArtOfTheKickstart.com/course

I had a few questions and would love help:

What are the biggest challenges or issues you have/had running your campaign?
What if anything would you want to see included/would be helpful?
Any other thoughts or opinions?

Basically I've run Art of the Kickstart for quite some time and consult for clients a ton on running successful campaigns but literally do not have time to adequate help all the listeners with questions and concerns. This course which I've been working months on is meant to be a fully comprehensive walk-through of exact crowdfunding strategy.

Thanks guys, I really really appreciate your help. Honestly this is like my backer validation and customer research you're all so familiar with.

Wish you guys best of luck and would be beyond grateful for any constructive criticism or feedback.

Cheers,

Matt

The biggest challenge thus far has been to get people to know about our campaign. I feel there is a catch 22 with crowdfunding - It seems people are hesitant to become a backer if there aren't already backers. But if there aren't already backers, how do you get backers?

That is the trick 100%. You need to get backers right out of the gate.

Did you do any list building ahead of time? How large is your personal network?
