Check it out…I joined Kickstarter to raise money for my new cooking show. Cooking, sharing people’s stories, sharing traditions…what is not to love about this?

Spread the word…donate a dollar…share an encouraging message.

Seems like your project is struggling a bit. Typically, I see the first 30% of funds coming from friends/family. I'd also consider adding more rewards and ones that would include backers in the cooking show in some way.

Originally I did, but was told by quite a few people that it was too complicated, and being new to this I simplified it.

I really like cooking shows. How are you doing on this?

The Kickstarter is not going well at all, but the show must go on (as they say). I have all of the equipment, the team, the show concept, where and how it’s going to air….everything except funding to take it beyond local (which is not a bad thing).

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Hi Chris,
The thing that comes through is your love for cooking. I think your vid should be all about cooking. Mixing eggs, throwing something in the oven. Juggling three stations at once. Lots of cooking. I did local tv for a year and had a show on 4 stations in LA, so I think local is great. we shot three episodes a week and broadcast the best 2, but even if you do one a week, it will add up. periodically through every show, have your social media links displayed and build up that fan base. some of the greatest long-lasting actors around got their start by doing lots of tv, so crank out those episodes. whether this (your first) kickstarter gets funded or not, plan on doing another campaign after you've done a few shows. i think your goal is reasonable, and the fans in your future will respond.

Don't give up! I'd maybe also try contacting bloggers and press who write about cooking shows

The main issue with your KS page is the lack of gloss; no graphics, no banners, no dividers, pie charts... nothing. Just text. People don't like to read, man! You have to "sneak" the information in via imagery. ;) But it's your first KS and you admitted to wanting to take it easy. I would definitely put more forethought into your next attempt though, cos you have a winning personality and a good hook. Just gotta wow the people, yo! (I say this and I'm guilty of the 30% rule on my own KS, lol)

GL to ya out there!

You have come to the right place. Your project is going to be rock! Cooking is favorite for all. Every one wants to know recopies of different traditions. So don't worry. Good Luck.
