Hey all at the Kickstarter Forum!

Tawny is a throwback horror short film with all the makings of a surefire classic! Our very talented Director of Photography David M. Brewer (Insidious), horror icon Dan Yeager (Texas Chainsaw 3D), a compelling script and an enthusiastic production team are the foundation. But we need your help to bring Tawny to life!

Austin, TX. A hot summer night in 1976. What starts out as a couple of beers after work turns into a dangerous situation for Tawny and her good friend, Darla. They want to "raise some hell like they used to"....but they should be careful what they wish for.

Why the 1970's?

It was the golden age of horror. Carrie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Black Christmas, Halloween, The Omen - these films captured our fears on celluloid. With a focus on story and character, this type of filmmaking is rarely seen today. Experimentation in sound, framing and character led to breakthroughs in the medium and found new and innovative ways to scare us.

It was a time before Google could tell you about a person. Before you could use a cellphone to call for help. When hitchhiking was still a thing. It was the shifting of the age of innocence toward the age of awareness; the perfect setting for our story.

Please consider helping me and my amazing team create this experience. We have 19 days left and need a big push!
Thank you!

How's the campaign going so far? Have you gotten many pledges from strangers?

You know we have! I'd say 70% has been family and friends and 30% from people who just liked the idea :-) Its a little scary because we have so long to go- we're 20% funded with only 16 days to go. But I believe we can have a strong finish if the word gets out!

That's pretty awesome regarding the strangers pledging! That's a good validation of the idea.
