Well, as the saying goes, "The first impression is the best impression". The email should drive the reader's attention, the very first line of the content of the email should be about something awesome and make him the remaining part. of course, there's always a catch at the end :P

As a non-native speaker I have to say that writing formal emails is a pain haha

Good article. My biggest challenge will probably be to keep the emails short and simple. I like to explain things a lot.
