I'm sure others have noticed this, but I just wanted to point out something that Rose mentioned in her weekly crowdfunding tips article.

One of the newer Kickstarter initiatives seems to be this this "Happening" newsletter, where the staff points out projects the like, links they like (updates from pas successful projects), and "etc". I've included an example below:

"Links We Like

"What do I care about?” (Rookie Mag)

How a community saved a beloved local movie theater (The Press Democrat)

Watch 12 O’Clock Boys, an incredible Kickstarter-funded doc on dirt bikers in Baltimore (iTunes)

Projects We Backed

A kit to start your own robot army (Ian)

Sarah Reid’s album of looped violin tracks (Julie)

An app to print and mail your photos for free (Erik)

The first print issue of The Great Discontent (Aaron R.)

Loving Vincent, the world's first feature-length painted animation film (Dan)

Make Your Thing, a conference for independent creators (Yancey)

Canadian poet Shane Koyczan is making his third book of poetry (Niina)

Over 550 photographs from The United States taken by over 100 photographers (Mike M.)

Etc:

Edgar Allan Poe, William S. Burroughs & the weirdest game that ever was (YouTube)

Have a story, a photo, or a video about a project you want to share with us? We'd love to see it! Share them with us here: stories@kickstarter.com"

Have you tried sending in your story or photo?

Hadn't heard about this, but I'm gonna send them an email. Not about my own project, but one I've backed. Seems like a good way to get interesting projects noticed.

I read about this in other places as well. I also sent them a short email about us & our campaign but heard nothing back. I am not sure what's the best way to approach it - anyone with good advice on this?

As Sal mentioned in his podcast, it may be best to have someone else nominate your project to stories@kickstarter.com so it doesn't just seem like self-promotion.
