Hello, we are new to the crowdfunding scene and need all the feedback we can get.

We did a soft launch using Ignitiondeck on our website.

Our goal is to launch our project under technology on Kickstarter in the first quarter of 2014.

Our initial goal was $275,000 but we received some feedback that it is better to have a lower goal and overshoot it??

We have completed one video but we are currently shooting our primary story video that will have our story, demonstrations, interviews etc.. We have to finish this before we go to Kickstarter.

Oh, sorry, completely missed that haha. Long day. Yes, definitely better to have a lower goal if you can fulfill your promises (rewards/complete the project) with less money than you are asking. You can always raise more with stretch goals. Have you asked anyone to submit info for this on reddit? http://www.reddit.com/r/science

One of our biggest concerns is that we dont have a mass deliverable item , watch , widget ,etc..

Any advice you could give would be appreciated! Also do many people hire a Crowdfunding PR firm to build awareness? Any reviews for such firms?

Awesome endeavor, and I have a few more comments I'll write out later, but one thing you could do here is provide little scale model versions of the turbine at some price point like $100.00...it's pretty easy nowadays to get things 3d printed or molded. Could even do different materials for different pledge amounts.

Hey Todd. I think we've been around for about 8 months. Engagement is always an issue. Creators want feedback, but not as many are willing to provide feedback for others. Working to up that factor . It's primarily a community for creators. In the future, I hope to bring more backer-oriented individuals to the community. May take a while to get there though.
