Looking for Best Practices to Line Baking Trays

Hi everyone,

I've been experimenting with different ways to line baking trays but I’m curious to know what techniques or materials work best for you. I’ve tried parchment paper and silicone mats but sometimes I still struggle with sticking or uneven cooking.

I'm a big fan of silicone baking mats! They're reusable, easy to clean and prevent sticking pretty well. I've found that they work especially well for cookies and delicate pastries. However, I do sometimes find that they can make some baked goods cook a little slower.

This is a great topic! I've tried parchment paper and silicone mats too, and sometimes I find that even with those, things can still stick a bit.

One thing I've started doing is lightly greasing the parchment paper or silicone mat with a bit of oil or butter. This seems to help prevent sticking, especially with things like cookies or brownies.

Have you tried using aluminum foil? It's a classic for a reason! It's cheap, readily available, and easy to use. You can scrunch it up a bit for extra airflow, which can help with even cooking. Just be careful not to let it touch the heating elements.
