PC Game Windforge Kickstarter ends on Friday

If any of you like indie PC games, you've got until Friday to back Windforge, a 2D sandbox game that takes place in a steampunk world where everything flies, from the cities to the airships to the whales... yeah, flying whales.

But beyond the game itself being good (at least we think so) a successful launch of the game would mean its developers, Snowed In Studios, could continue to make their own original games. Until a generous grant from the Ontario government let them make Windforge, Snowed In has been surviving exclusively on doing contracts for larger developers instead of fulfilling their own dreams. A successful Kickstarter could change that.

Our campaign is here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/snowedinstudios/windforge Thanks for your time!

Out of curiosity, how did you generate the huge upswing in the last week or so?

Well it took off right about when we lowered the prices on some of the reward tiers and added extra rewards as a "Black Friday" sale. That made for a strong rally over that weekend. Then it stalled a bit, but we got three very large backers in the final few hours, including a $3.5k pledge with about 30 seconds left. We were also doing a 5 hour live stream during the final hours and it got around 250 views, perhaps that had something to do with that or all the little backers that also joined up during that time.

Cool. I think I could use your example in an article of how changing things up can have a positive effect on a campaign. Would you be interested in being interviewed? My email is: sbriggman@crowdcrux.com
