So I pull out my carpet to dry it, finding serious leaks during the rain. The rear carpet wasn't a problem. I really don't want to do this.

Did anyone just cut out the carpet on the front? It looks like the cuts will be completely covered by the scraps, and the carpet is so hard that it should stay in place without a problem.
