Hi everyone!

My Name is Laurel Anderson and I wanted to introduce myself and my kickstarter campaign to help publish my first recipe book entitled Wild Plate. Yahoo!! I have created this book from the initial concept to recipe development, food photography, design, layout, indexing and more and now need your help to send this book into printing. This book has been three years in the making and a beautiful + wild ride.

Wild Plate is a 285 page gourmet raw food recipe book featuring beautiful full color photographs for all 100 recipes that are:

GLUTEN FREE + DAIRY FREE + GRAIN FREE + VEGAN + NO REFINED SUGARS OR OILS + ALLERGEN FRIENDLY + DELICIOUS

Please check out my page and spread the good work via facebook, twitter, blogs, email or word of mouth. Thank you for taking the time to view this message. XOXO

Hey Laurel. Seems like you've made some progress in your first week. Have you managed to get on any food blogs?

Hi there!! I feel really lucky for the progress being made but would love to get more traffic coming to my page. I have personally emailed about 30 blogs in the vegan/raw food category and haven't heard back from any of them. But I'm going to keep contacting new ones everyday. Today I am reaching out to other health related blogs as well as local newspapers. I did a facebook boost on my business page regarding my kickstarter campaign and that has helped get more traffic to the site. I am also showing rewards on instragram and showcasing some of the photos from the book to generate more buzz. I have made this my full time job for the 30 days and working around the clock to make this the best campaign I possibly can. I am open to suggestions and ready to push this campaign to the next level!!

Hey Laurel! Have you thought about providing samples or tastings to people? If they actually taste the food (and fall in love!) they may be inspired to back the campaign. On another note, I am also in the health industry and I know that raw foodism is pretty new and many people do not see the incredible benefits of it. So they probably need a little convincing. I love the bit at the end of the video on your campaign where you say it will lead to a healthier, happier life so maybe if you add a little more of that in it would help. Just in my opinion from watching the video, I can tell that you are incredibly passionate about the project and lifestyle, but to get more backers you need to show them why it is beneficial to them as well. I think it's a fantastic looking book though I hope to see it in production - best of luck!

Thank you so much for the suggestions and feedback!! I haven't done any tastings for the campaign so maybe that will be one of my projects this week. I will be doing a small article in a local newspaper so hopefully that will help too. Yes, I totally agree with your statement about raw foodism and that it's new to the foodie world. I wanted to explain more in the video however, the video company that I was working with wouldn't let me do anymore footage...long story. I will brainstorm some ways to add it into the text of the story on my page and was thinking about doing a video update this week to post at the two week mark. Thank you for the kind words and crossing my fingers I reach my goal. I keep hearing from clients and friends they're going to donate but haven't seen much follow through so maybe a few more will pull through in the end. I am determined to get this book into print and do whatever it takes to get there whether it's on kickstarter or out of my own pocket. Thanks again!
