GIF animation as the project image

Hi,

My project is live on Kickstarter and doing well. Right now my biggest question is how to use a GIF animation as the main project image, so that it shows up both in Kickstarter project search listing as well as play on the campain page, ahead of the video.

I tried adding a GIF animation to a dummy project that I created and in the project preview, the animation was just a static image.

Any help please?

Thanks in advance.

BTW, the project is: http://kfe.fnd.to/usb93

Try compressing the gif and matching the size of the gif to the dimensions. Also try to limit the number of frames (say 10).

Have you figured out how to do it? I tried 16:9 ratio, 1024x576 pixels, less than 10 frames, compressed to 1.7MB, and it still shows as static.

As for me, you just need to change the image resolution. Recently, I have had the same dilemma. But I wasn't trying to download GIF animation, I just wanted to download a PNG image. And I was surprised when I saw that the site has misrepresented the photo. Then I tried to find a solution to my problem on the internet. And I have found a very reliable https://imglarger.com/enhancer resource. I just changed the image resolution and enhanced it a bit, that's all. After this manipulation, I calmly downloaded the photo and everything went well. Do you know any other similar resources you can recommend?

When I was setting up my own Kickstarter campaign, I ran into the same issue. I uploaded a GIF animation, but on the project preview, it showed up as just a static image. Talk about a letdown, right? After some trial and error, I discovered a workaround. Instead of linking to the GIF, try uploading it directly to your project page. Sometimes, platforms like Kickstarter can be a bit finicky with external links, so keeping everything in-house might do the trick. Oh, and here's a handy tip I picked up along the way – did you know you can actually compress JPEG files to save space without compromising quality? It's a game-changer for optimizing your project images and keeping things running smoothly.
