You really need to have a multi-channel strategy to promote your Kickstarter project - blogs, press releases, email, social media especially Facebook and Twitter, and offline. Also, make sure your campaign title and description are clear and your rewards precisely target your audience BEFORE your start heavy promotion to ensure visitors turn into backers.
