Kickstarter Video Length

Hello all!

I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on video length for Kickstarters. I work for a nonprofit and I'm putting together a Kickstarter campaign for a project we are doing...before I came in, my boss had a thirteen minute video. I know the norm is 3-5 minute videos, but our concept is pretty complex and requires a lot of explaining. I think I can cut it down to 5 but he prefers the longer version.

Would you guys say that videos longer than 5 minutes are an absolute no? Or are there exceptions to this rule? Do you know of any campaigns that have successfully funded with a 5+ minute video?

Any advice is so appreciated! Thank you :D

If your video is a formal introduction, i guess even 5 mins is too long.

I won't put all information into my video, i will have my video simple, and interesting.
Once people is interested, and they will read more detail in your page patiently.

If your video is too long and too complex, maybe they will leave in 30 mins.
