Has anyone used Gleam to run a competition to grow an email list? Is there an alternative to Gleam that anyone would recommend? Any other tips around this topic?
Thanks.

Sure, I'd recommend it. I did an extensive review of Gleam and how to set it up at:

Let me know if I can help at all.

That is really helpful, thanks!
I think our potential problem though, is that the company we are going to be running a Kickstarter campaign for has social media, but is not very active on it. Also, they are branching out into a bit of a new area (in terms of people the product is aimed at) and the people we want to target are not going to be on their current social media. So the problem would be where to advertise the competition in the first place? Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What kind of services do you offer? It looks like your website is just an alternative to kicktraq, but you are speaking as if you offer marketing services. Perhaps I am misunderstanding.

On our Submit page is a list of services. Yes you're right we are similar to Kicktraq, but also work "hands on" with campaign owners.

We've updated the Gleam help link too:

Why would you even want to grow an email list? If your product is good, the backers will flow in once you hit launch. Kickstarter has over 100m monthly unique visitors. The crowd is watching at all times. Don't waste your time marketing, spend your time on the product. I've seen this happen with so many campaigns, they launch and then by the end of the day they are fully funded. Crowdfunding is all in the crowd, my friend.

Haven't used them, haven't heard of them.
