Is video quality very important?

We are launching our Kickstarter campaign soon - 14th April latest hopefully a week earlier if possible.

How important are videos on campaigns?

We do have video's and a video of the product (eMinnow motorized fishing lure) in real life action but being real life means the water is a little murky etc.
We also have other videos showing how the lures are made however, none of our videos are glossy, expensive professionally made ones as we don't have the resources to have them made.

I'd value your opinions?

Dear David, I am about to drop a pun.

No Money, No Honey.

No Video, No Money.

Usually Lowkey is my shadow replying to posts after me, so thought I'd try it for once :)

One idea is that you do a shoot in a fishtank, that way you can get some great looking angles. If budget is a problem you could use a normal video camera with some great filters, but it shouldn't look too cheap.

Best of luck!

Thank you for the reply.
We have thought about using the neigbours swimming pool which could work nicely.
The tried the fish tank, initially seemed okay but we couldn't get it to the point we were happy with.
Love the pun by the way! :)

We shot our entire video on my iPhone 6s and a makeshift tripod. I think the product and story is important, the quality and eye-candy are icing on the cake. If your cake is a turd, the video quality may not help much.

I think video is the most important thing in a campaign, especially its first 20-30 seconds.
I personally stop watching it if I am not interested or inspired after 20 seconds:)
