I came across these two backer directories and I'm wondering if anyone here has actually used these directories? They essentially claim to have emails and social media profiles of backers and serial backers, even showing their profiles!
It sounds too good to be true.
The other question is, if we market to them via email, does this break Kickstarters community guidelines of spamming?

Other campaign creators have mentioned other campaigns to their backers, so I would think this should be acceptable if we're honestly trying to market them something legitimate.

I think it's a waste of time and money. How would these backer's details be collected (with their permission?), then imagine the same old lists being sent out to campaign owners, only for them to send out pitches to the same people on the lists.

Using Backer Directories the way hyperstarter described is a big mistake many beginner campaign owners do and doesn't give any results. It is understandable cause some people prefer to do things the easy way, usually their train of thought goes like this: I'll get a list of a bunch of backers, quickly message them all, half of them will support my campaign, and I reach my goal in no time. But, achieving success requires devoting time and hard work and the same is true for using backer directories. Backer Directory is not a quick fix, it is a valuable tool that when used properly can aid your campaign.

To properly use the backer directory first you need to consider it more as a research then a marketing tool. You should use it to identify backers who are interested in and supported campaigns similar to your campaign. Then you can start connecting with backers that you'll select. Most important thing to remember is that you must not send sales pitches to them, instead you need to take your time and establish a kind of relationship with them. Never be pushy, be honest and once you have established a relationship you can mention your campaign and ask for their opinion about it.

why dont you guys just exchange leads between the most recent campaign owners.

and make sure they have good history with the crowd too.
