What are some good ways to promote a Kickstarter?

My friend is Kickstarting a short film, and it's one he's wanting to make for a while now (link is in my signature). He already has 2 backers, but they're people close to him and he doesn't really know how to get people to help him fund the film. Him and I have posted about it on some social media platforms but we don't have many people following us on them to get any sort of momentum going.

I'm sure if we kept posting everywhere it would get some traction, but nowhere that we've posted has gotten any notoriety, so what do we do? We can post it on a bunch of forums but if no one pledges any money then it won't matter. I just want this movie to get made, but we're stuck in terms of getting it out there. Do any of you guys have experience in advertising a Kickstarter? What did you do to get it noticed?

I've alot of experience! In fact no one is really going to help you for free, unless you've a budget. That's the plain facts.

However if you invest your time in looking at: Your competitors, Influencers who have written about Kickstarters in the past or related sites/forums - then that's a good place to start.

What's your film(s) about? It's hard to know what it's about unless we click on the link, but to save us time - it's worthwhile to be told in advance.

Best of luck!
