Licensing Your Product

Having launched my IGG campaign a week ago I've been contacted by half a dozen companies, predominantly in the US and all of which look legit, wanting to discuss licensing the product.
I should also say that this particular IGG campaign is not doing particularly well though we still have a few weeks to go and did only minimum pre-marketing (for reasons I shan't bore you with here).
I'm now sitting thinking how on earth am I going to deal with this - I've no experience in this subject area, don't want to get burnt, but do want to engage. My campaign started because, like many of the people here, I just felt I had an idea that should exist in the world - this is a potentially very exciting twist though one I'd not prepared for.
Who else has experienced this? What did you do and why? What lessons would you give to others in a similar position?
