Calculating Shipping Costs

Hey everyone,

If you want to offer your rewards to everyone in the world...how do you calculate your shipping costs? I know that you can just stop by the post office and ask them to weigh your reward. But how do you determine what the most expensive place to mail to is? I live in Canada, and I ask them the shipping cost to Canada, to the U.S., and worldwide. But it always seems to vary what the most expensive costs are.

I just want to know what to charge people on my Kickstarter.

Also...how do you guys plan for the shipping costs? One thing I'd rather KS not do is include the shipping cost in my goal. Keep it separate! I need that money not for shipping costs, but for my product. Makes it more of a headache to try to anticipate who is donating: Americans, Canadians, international people. Just another variable.

That was also my problem, since we started our first project that we're collaborating on. For now we have decided to charge a bit for the shipping, although I'm planning to revise our rewards a bit, I just have no idea how much money we're actually going to take out after we pay the taxes and other things (I know of Kickstarter's 10%). It's really hard to actually crack down this data for us, since it's really the one area we're kindof blue on.
