Getting started on Kickstarter

Hi y'all,
We're Modern Coalition, a startup mobile game developer. We're going to begin a Kickstarter campaign soon to generate hype for our product and get some funds. What we're building is basically a game that brings real-world political strategy to mobile gaming, by allowing players to take stances on important issues and form alliances to get their opinions across.
This will be our first experience with Kickstarter, so we're trying to lay the groundwork with a strong social media presence and effective promotion. Any tips from the community on that?
