Email vs texting link to personal contacts

I know a lot of these threads talk about building a tribe of personal contacts you can reach out to and count on for supporting the campaign. We have a list of 2,000 we are reaching out to, but just a handful at a time and trying to personalize each message. For others who have done this approach, what has converted better, emailing contacts or text messaging them?

I haven't compared the two so I don't know for sure which converts better I can just give you my opinion. Unless it's someone I'm good friends with (or family) I'm going to be annoyed with a text from someone who is just an acquaintance texting me to promote their project. Text demands my attention immediately because my phone goes off while email waits for me to get to it. Someone I know well then text is a better way to reach me because I'm not going to feel annoyed with them because of our personal relationship. So maybe break down your contacts into those who you have a good personal relationship with and text them but email the rest?
