What should I do now? Kickstarter started off slowly

Hello, everybody! I'm having some trouble getting my kickstarter going. I launched it a week ago and haven't gotten much attention or funding. I'm having trouble thinking about ways to catch people's eyes and pique their.

I'm thinking about starting a website but funds are extremely tight. Pretty much all of my money is used for food.

Please take a look and share any advice or ideas. Thank you.

Hi, I saw this and no one else commented so I took time out and looked at your campaign and video.

Probably first thing I'd say is that you've got the passion there, it seems to be a project you *need* to work but the video and text comes across as somewhat desperate which is always going to put people off.

2nd thing is that you've got too much information going on. Perhaps some sketches would help in colour of the worlds/characters involved.

You remind me a bit of Kevin Smith which should appeal to people who like his movies/tv series but you ultimately need focus. Make it more clear what you'll be providing (UU sounds like W too) and what you'll expect in return.

I like the idea of tiers like $10, $20, $50, $100 only too. Good luck with it!

Hello,

I think part of the reason things may be going slowly for you is that your Kickstarter seems to be going in two different directions -- your dream of producing your comics, and your interest in starting a comics mentoring institute.

If I were you, I'd focus on one or the other. I think backers like focused campaigns that identify a single goal and explain how their backing will help achieve said goal.

That doesn't mean you can't have a grand plan for comics in your life. But maybe just Kickstart one step at a time.

Best of luck,

Matt

Recently did an interview with a comic book creator who was very open and up-front with what it takes to be successful on the platform. Hope it helps: http://www.crowdcrux.com/sidekicks-comi ... echinques/

Generally you have to be successful in a field before you begin giving people advice on how to be successful in a field.
So the training idea probably isn't going to work. Also the artwork looks like a child drew it. If art isn't your forte, then why not put in some text - maybe a dialogue scene.
