CAN I EMAIL THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ABOUT MY CAMPAIGN? I have collected emails of a few thousand people that I think will be interested in my Kickstarter campaign while it's running,

WILL I GET SUSPENDED for emailing people who may not know exactly who I am ? :o

I would like to know this because I feel emailing these people could affect the outcome of my campaign, I do not want to get suspended I only want the word to get out there!

Let me know whether I should pull the trigger on this task or not.... :?:

(sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I want the campaign to succeed) :D

this is not a purchased list, i made it myself. I am using a rented smtp service. It will get around any blockers the question is... CAN THEY REPORT IT TO KICKSTARTER and ... will kickstarter suspend my campaign??

I do not think they will care and I would love to use it as well :-)
Just make a nice email.

I think it should be fine if they don't know each other.
Coz when i receive an e-mail, i won't ask my fd if he received it too.

It sounds fine to me.

If you email people who haven't opted into the email list (yes, I have done this in the past for non-Kickstarters), then you will see a dramatic unsubscribe rate and people unsubscribing with every email blast. This could alert your mailing list provider like MailChimp or Aweber (see the ones we recommend on the right) which could get your account suspended.

I would try to go through an email list that they already recognize and have subscribed or opted-in to.

If you used your own personal web server or your own email, you could quickly see that your emails are being flagged as spam and they might go straight to the people's spam box.
