How to get a Kickstarter project into Google News

I was thinking to get my Kickstarter project AR-Pinboard in Google News.
I see the form to submit a website expects a "contact us" url and the contact us page showing a physical address.
I have a landing page that I set up with LaunchRock before launching the Kickstarter but it's very simple. http://www.ar-pinboard.com

I wonder if anybody has experience with submitting the Kickstarter project page to Google News.

I've never had any type of experience submitting my projects to any other site. But it might be something I'll look into! Definitely keep us informed on if you successfully get it accepted on Google News. It would be a great way to get more backers too!

I'm definitely interested in this as well. Please let us know if you're successful (or not).

From my experience, usually google news will feature articles from publications that have been approved by the google team. Some press release websites will get you into google news. I haven't ever heard of someone getting just their project url into google news.

Would you be able to recommend any specific press release websites that are able to do that?

Thanks sbriggman. That's what I thought.

I'm focusing on press releases to blogs now, and hopefully that will get me into google news.

In fact, initially I was thinking about google alerts. Because I use these to get alerts about certain topics. I wonder how google alerts works. Perhaps it's only search robots?

@prismland1 - Here is a good breakdown of the free ones that can: http://www.vitispr.com/blog/free-press-release-sites/

The paid ones (prnewswire, prweb) have been able to also historically (or at least get the attention of a journalist who will write about you and then you get in google news). However, google has been cracking down on press release sites recently, so I'd have to look to see if they still do. Some of the syndication partners with CrowdfundingPR will also get you into google news or on google alerts (like digital journal).

Yea, a lot of bloggers and journalists (myself included) use google alerts to keep up with the news. It depends though on what they are watching (search engine results, news, blog results, etc).

@sbriggman thanks for that.

What I've started to do with Google alerts, is go through my alerts in "Augmented Reality" and send a news tip to many of the websites that appeared in the alert list. If I get featured in any of them, maybe I kill two birds with a single news tip ;-)

It looks like PRFire http://www.prfire.co.uk/ is not free anymore.
When you click the submit free press release button the only choice you have is to go through their other site http://www.prfire.com which charges £50 to distribute the press release.
