Which is better offering Impact or Perks?

Ok, who doesn't like perks?
I love those tangible freebies (t-shirts, limited editions) that more likely than not, I will never use.
However, indeed I am a sucker for a great project that offers impact.
I ran across this project and love, love, love the tagline:
“Help us Help others”.
Simple but states the clear goal in just a few words.
Your thoughts????

It is simple but it doesn't state the goal at all.

I struggle with the idea of the rewards as it adds so much cost to your budget and they are really hard to predict how many people will pledge what amount.
I think that if people truly think your project is a good one - for whatever reason then they will back it any way.
We have had a number of people choose no reward.
I think impact is more effective.

I agree rewards does up the cost (but Kickstarter) tells you to include it in the cost of your budget. Impact is always a winner because people like to feel they are a part of doing good.
However, they also like perks. With my campaign (it's over and didn't get funded).
I offered to write eBooks for donors who donated over, $500. I write and ghostwrite so delivering the material wouldn't have cost me anything, except free labor. BTW hope everyone is enjoying labor day.

FBK we have factored the rewards into our budget but that it what made it higher and probably unachieveable!
Anyway - sorry you didn't get funded. Hope you will be trying again.
It's not Labour day in the Netherlands but hope you are enjoying yours.
