Hi everyone,

First of all it's been great reading through this forum, it's nice being able to learn from other people's crowdfunding experiences!

I am currently running a campaign for a development board that makes it easy to use Near Field Communication (http://bit.ly/micronfcboard/).

As you can see, we have 16 days left and the project is 24% funded:

I still think we can make it with enough promotion, but obviously we'll need to get some serious momentum to reach our goal!

So far I've been focusing on PR and social media but I am trying to come up with some innovative marketing ideas.

Has anyone of you ever experimented with backers referral perks? I was thinking of doing something like: for each backer you refer and who pledges £30+ we'll give you 5 NFC tags if you have already pledged £30+ (for instance the new backer would message me with the name of the backer that referred them).

Would be glad to hear your opinions on this!

Interesting idea. How would you manage that? How can you track who referred whom?

Thanks! I would ask new backers to message me and mention their referrer's username (for instance: donatien-garnier), I would then message the referrer with a confirmation message.

I look forward to seeing how it goes. My thought is that you'll miss them. If I were a backer, I'm unlikely to pledge AND take time to message you who sent me. Or I might not know the username of the person who referred me. I'll back you and share with my followers but no reason to message you.

I love the idea of backer referrals. Not sure what else I can offer of my handmade jewelry though.

have you looked at Heyo? i am going to do another one of those. heyo.com - it has the referral link built in on a leader board style
