I am trying to use the Kickstarter as preorders for a special greeting card (and I know everyone here has a project to sell.)

What do you do with backers who choose no rewards? Do you offer them the order anyway? Or just thank them profusely?

I would just thank them. Usually, when I choose no reward, I actually just want to support the project and either don't want the reward or don't want the creator to worry about one more reward fulfillment order (cost + headache).

We send a quick reminder to the backer to confirm that they deliberately chose no reward. We've found on our project that some people just forget to select it.

I myself have willingly done it a few times. So I can only assume it happens a lot more often.

We have the opposite problem! Some backers wishing to have a reward, without telling us their address haha

Thanks. It is tough to figure out. I have emailed every backer who did not select a reward to ask them. Of course, since some of my rewards are electronic (get your name in a new language now) and are before the KS ends, that makes it difficult. www.tinyurl.com/greet-rose

Yeah I find it good to just send a personal email to those backers with a thank you for supporting your project. They really appreciate you taking the time to send them a message.

That's what I do. When I get a backer notification I send them a message as soon as I can thanking them.

We're going to be sending them thank you letters if they pledge $3 or more. The others will get a generic email.
