the "give us money and we will tweet you" emails

Since starting my kickstart project I've received one or two of these emails a day. Some are asking for as little as $5 (for one tweet!) some ask for around $30 - one started at $199 and went up from there.

It seems like they are scams to me - that the main people making money from this is them. Especially the one that starts at $199 - and said "we really like your kickstart project..." Well, my kickstart project is only asking for $200 - so if I pay them $199 I could very well fund myself. Obviously they didn't even read my project much less "really like" it.

Are ANY of these honest? Has ANYONE ever used them and recieved what they promise? Or should we report them, and if so, how?

Thanks for any replies to this.

This is something I've been wondering myself. I've received at least 10 different "we will promote your campaign" emails and I've looked everywhere for positive feedback.

As far as I can tell, most of them are scams: http://crowdfundingforum.com/showthread.php/7742-Beware-the-%E2%80%98Crowdfund-Buzz%E2%80%99-scam

I have been wondering the same thing. Most of the activity I have had with my Kickstarter campaign has been Consultants wanting to offer services. Is this common? Are they Legit? Has anyone used them, and if so what were the results? If I decide to use a consultant or PR rep who would you recommend? - Mad Monster

@mad monster - I've put together a list of consultants that I consider to be effective here: http://www.crowdcrux.com/crowdfunding-p ... companies/
