KickSpy - fact or fraud?

Let's talk KickSpy, this site I just found that claims to be able to predict the end result of your project using some complex algorithms.

Have any of you tracked your projects using this tool and, if so, was it reliable? They've got project examples on the site, but I'd love to know what people's actual experiences were tracking their progress.

The site is here: http://www.kickspy.com You can find your project on the site to see live data with projections.

The upside is my project is currently trending toward 171% funding but if it's all BS then I certainly don't want to get my hopes up!

Hi Evan, just spent some time on Kickspy, its looks pretty harmless. From what I remember from college, the more data they have, the more accurate the predictions can be. I think as a few more days go by and they can see how you are being backed, will either confirm there prediction or they will revise it. Either way you should continue to promote your campaign as much as possible. Good Luck.

Good point. It always comes down to data variations!

For the rest of you, have any of you used the tool to track your project's progress?

I know the guys at Kickspy. They have no intentions to be "fraud" data providers. Just trying to build a cool tool for creators like KickTraq. Not implying that you are calling them frauds, that word just has a strong connotation. Whether or not their data predictions are accurate is tough to assess.

The kicktraq blog has some good tips on taking "trends" with a grain of salt: http://blog.kicktraq.com/why-you-should ... n-of-salt/

Another good article on linear trends: http://blog.kicktraq.com/kicktraq-quick ... ad-mmmkay/

We're using Kickspy and Kicktraq for our project and we are finding that we are meeting our trends, however that's due to putting a lot of hard work in getting our project out there and getting as many people as we know to fund us.

@poe Good point. You will only meet the predictions if you continue your current progress and activity, which can be very difficult during the mid-campaign slump period. .
