Kickstarter when English is your second language

Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of creating my kickstarter project but I have this issue with the way I say things. I can enunciate words just fine, I have a little bit of american english accent and very little of my native accent BUT the feelings attached to my message are lost when I speak. I sounded fake. The problem is the way I punctuate, the way I emphasize words etc. I'm out of tune when I speak (for lack of a better word).

If I have somebody talk for my kickstarter then I just talk a little bit at the end of the video, will that be ok?

In my experience, I have seen a decline on how people respond (in a positive way) to certain things if you don't speak english clearly. 2 dentist friends of my mine bought a very productive practice. After a year, their production went down dramatically and a lot of their patients changed dentists. I have seen this happen in other areas as well.

Can you please give me some advice on how to proceed with my kickstarter video. I had somebody copy edit the written portion of my project so I'm good in this area.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Cris

I had the same problem - I can write just fine but my speaking accent is terrible.

What I did was have a professional voice actor talk during the first 3/4 of the movie while I showcased the product with demos and images, and then during the last 1/4 I just said like 4-5 sentences which it took me 2 weeks to record (I must have recorded them 100 times, really). Also, I put music on the whole video, it makes you sound a little less bad :/ hope that helps!
