Please share what really interesting projects/concepts you've supported. I just backed an intriguing project called Sharitabl after my friend sent me info on it. It's really pretty simple, but a fascinating idea unless your name is Mark Zuckerberg of course.

It's a social network just like Facebook except built on the belief the content we create on social media belongs to all of us, and the revenue it produces should be shared and used for good. So, they're giving most of the revenues to charitable organizations which will be selected (voted on) by their users (Brilliant!!). Since I am very involved in philanthropy, this is a concept that really hit home.

That sounds super awesome! I'll definitely check out that link as well!

It's a T-shirt that can't be stained.

I recently supported a college student who wants to write a gag book and use the money to help pay for college. He posted a explainer video of the book and it made me laugh out loud and think at the same time.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
Sharitabl has a great name and appears to be a great project. I certainly LOVE do good projects.

But a couple of things. There is a place, need, and appreciation for {F} type of sites. Indeed, there are pros and cons to all sites.
I will assume that Sharitabl was created by a great (or some great) Social Entrepreneurs, but even social ventures need to make money too! Unless how would they scale? As this project scales it too will have pros and cons.

The UMIGI Pen

I discovered this project on Google when I was looking for writing implements that would be a little easier for my friends who have difficulty using and gripping a pen. The pen is pretty sweet. You just need to shake it down to open it and shake it sideways to close it. Since there are no caps and no buttons to click, it is so much easier for my friends to use.

I mainly just back comics. Tech stuff I have backed always seems to get delayed and not live up to expectations.
