Just backed 'The Stranger - Movie' - Here's why

I just backed The Stranger - Movie on Kickstarter. I like that the creator already has shot the film and is asking for a modest goal - £5,000. I also think the film has a really cool premise: "A young woman finds a man unconscious on the road one night. When he wakes up he has no memory. Does she Love Him or Fear Him?"
Watch the trailer here.
It's so cool to me that John has been on a mission to make this for 5 years.
"I got the idea that no one would ever give me the chance to direct anything I didn’t set up myself, so I wrote something that would be cheap to make, but look and feel like a film costing a hell of a lot more."
It reminds me of what Seth Godin says about "picking yourself first" rather than waiting to be picked by someone else who can 'enable' your dreams.
Finally, the film really does have a beautiful musical score.
"We shot The Stranger in 2010 and then went into a long and seemingly endless period of no money, favours, falling outs and finally completion! I personally went through a period of 18 months during which I was housebound due to the extreme symptoms of vertigo. But I kept going, slowly, forging the film forward to completion, paying for things myself and using up every favour possible!
And now we need money to promote and sell the film – That’s where you come in! We need money for Film Festivals, Film Markets, Promo Materials and to set up and do a Limited Theatrical Release which will enable us to access online platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Lovefilm, iTunes & Sky Box Office."
