Afternoon fellow kickers!

I am the creator Robert Morris who designed the game Roan, a tabletop rpg inspired by the 40s as well as mlp fandom.

Originally the project began as a co-op with Buck Legacy, another successful pony game (card game) but parted do to the amount of work Urban of Buck Legacy was swamped with.

Having already written well over 80pgs, I continued, taking the fantasy setting and giving it a 40s spin.

I've had great advice from rpg minds like Ross Watson, known for his work with Accursed and even Rogue Trader of Dark Heresy, and I certainly look forward to his helping out with writing!

See my signature for the link!

Over 20+ artists have joined, and its definitely been an honor!

So far with only 4days having passed, we are at 6K!
Our little sherman tank of a KS is slowly making it towards our 15K goal!

Please do take a look and share Roan with any friends who enjoy a good pulpish 40s era rpg!

Salutations folks!

Roan has succeeded so far in earning 44% of its funds in under a week, and I am excited to watch it continue to grow!

WHAT DICE MECHANIC DOES ROAN USE?

Roan utilizes the Ubiquity system (Hollow Earth Expedition), created by Jeff Combos. The main feature of the system is its use of binary dice pool rolls to determine success. Under the default rules, each even number rolled counts as a success, while odd numbers count as nothing. Odd 'nothings' do not cancel out even 'successes', making dice rolling quick and simple.
It is a very dynamic system that encourages and even rewards role playing, and helps to simplify the dice rolling so it is not overly cluttered by fancy mathematics.

Ubiquity is an enhanced dice pool system that emphasizes storytelling and cinematic action.

Like other dice pool systems, players roll a number of dice to determine the success or failure of a specific action.

Unlike other dice pool systems, which can get bogged down in excessive dice rolling, Ubiquity has several key features that simplify play and encourage players to keep the story moving.

Roll any dice: Ubiquity lets you use the dice you already own.
You can roll any dice as long as they have an equal number of even and odd numbers on them. You can even mix and match polyhedral dice!

Roll less dice: Ubiquity Dice dramatically simplify rolling dice.
Specially designed as an add-on to Ubiquity, they allow you to roll up to one-third less dice and make counting the number of successes a breeze.

Roll less often: Ubiquity does away with needless dice rolls. Taking the Average tells you which actions are too easy to bother rolling for. You never have to slow down the action.

Play with style: Ubiquity rewards players for having a good time. You earn Style Points for role playing your character which may be spent for bonus dice later in the game.

You not only have more fun, but you’re more effective too.

Roan offers additions to the Ubiquity mechanics, these include an open magic system, air combat rules reflecting dog fights of the real world in easy to play terms, and specialized rules for armor, weapons, and combat talents.

As always I do hope for folks to give Roan a chance, especially if you enjoy a grand pulp action adventure tabletop rpg!

Wow, this looks like an actually amazing tabletop RPG! I commonly don't play them (rulebooks are big, and complicated), but I think I'd make an exception for this game. Do you have a Twitter I can follow on and retweet? Or perhaps a YouTube channel?

I do!
You can check out the following

The benefit of the system is to be a quick and easy game that emphasize the fun of roleplay over the constant pauses to add up dice, roll different dice, etc!

Definitely appreciate your interest, and please do ask any questions you might have!

It all looks really good! Neither me nor my family can spare any money right now while we're running our own Kickstarter, but perhaps it'll be something to add to the family game collection down the road! I've followed you on Twitter, retweeted one of your tweets and plan on doing so on a pretty regular basis. Best of luck, and any support you can give is much appreciated!

Ahhh interesting writing, I'll have to give it a better look through when I'm not rushing about on this end!
Definitely thank you for the peek and the boost, and I'll be happy to try my best and share yours, as you seem really close as well to success!

Thanks! I've never been the biggest fan of MLP (I don't judge, it's just not my thing), but I've always been a huge fan of hybrids between things and just RPGs in general. Plus this seems a LOT less complicated than D&D or any other P&P RPG I've seen. I actually know a few guys who like MLP, so I'll share it with them as well and see what happens. I'm just shy of 70% funded; really trying to push through on that last 30%! Also, congrats on making it past 50%, it's a nervewracking mark. Hope everything goes well quick! How are you getting the word out about Roan?

Psh, I think we all know Cthulhu takes what he wants. Especially from artists. Aaaanywaaay, thanks for the advice! I honestly hadn't ever thought of writing forums; I'll definitely give those a look. I suppose while I'm here: know any good writing forums where I could talk about my book?
