Capitalizing on Halloween to promote

I attended a convention just after the launch of my current Kickstarter ( https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/17 ... crop-cycle ).
In preparation, I went out and bought a whole bunch of candy corn (keeping with the theme and put them in small baggies. I then printed out cards containing a QR code to my Kickstarter and the name of my game that I placed in each bag. I handed them out at the convention and gave people a positive experience and clear directions on how to access Kickstarter.
What are your thoughts? Good, bad, odd? I would love to hear your thoughts!
