A week in, with only 10% funded. Is it worth continuing?

So, I've been promoting my project and we've reached $1,000 of our $10,000 goal. My project has to do with a cartoon series, and I've posted on every animation forum/blog/subreddit I could find. I don't have any other alternatives (already used facebook, twitter, youtube etc)

I know that most projects have a lot of support during their last few hours, but I doubt I'll be able to make the remaining 9k.

Is it worth continuing? I believe it is, but I have no where else to go.

I like your video, I don't think that you should give up. Keep on posting and promoting yourself, you still have some time and I think that it's a cool project.

Yes, it's worth it. The longer you go, the more you'll learn. Even if it fails to get funded, you can use your new-found knowledge to run a better campaign next time. Or use your backer info after the campaign and appeal to them directly. Try to adopt a Buddhist approach; let go of results, and just do the best you can.

I want to add, I went to your project, and I see you only have 1 update, and 1 comment. Update your backers only, and ask them to add a comment and help spread the word- click on the Twitter and FB icons, tell their friends, etc. Use them, they should want you to succeed.

I'd say - even with only a week left and 4/5 of the way to go, it's worth continuing!

Read through all the excellent advice in the forum, see what things you could adopt, and see how far you can get. Don't worry about not making it, focus on learning from this campaign so that you'll crush it on your next one!

I agree, I mean if there's still time, it's important to keep pushing your campaign. And if it doesn't work out, try to save some of the backers and learn what could be done better for next time if it doesn't get funded!

Huge point @WayneY: Folks who would back you once may do it again, and will appreciate your tenacity. With a bit of work they could form the start of your pack of allies for the next round, advocating hard for you.

I wouldn't give up. I've seen some Kickstarter campaigns really blow up towards the end. I set a pretty low goal for mine, only $1500, and even though it isn't "blowing up" or anything yet, I'm spending the time editing, updating, posting chapters to the book. I've contacted artists to help with photos and I even posted a picture of my dog to just kind of keep things going and interesting. From things I've read, if you are true to it and you don't give up, people will like that and have faith. A lot of backers wait towards the end to see what it looks like towards the tail end. They want to see that you're still dedicated and committed to the project.

I'm running into the same time line/funding % but it's definitely something to keep reaching out, posting, promoting and updating your project. Reaching out for feedback and improving on what you have is key at any and all points. 1% funded or 1000%.
