Tweeting Celebrities that may like your kickstarter?

I started tweeting celebrities who are known to love technology to check my kickstarter. http://kck.st/1wnxw2f
I haven't got a response yet. Has anybody attempted this with good results?

I think the biggest problem with this is that most "celebs" don't actually run their own twitter accounts and the people that do aren't going to RT anything to put their job in jeopardy, but for good measure I did try this and I didn't get any traction. Frankly, I wouldn't waste your time.

Ok, thanks. I haven't got response either. But it's kind of fun tweeting your favourite rapper or actor :-)

What's better then that of you FB message them and when they see it it shows "Seen". I'm like, "haha, I know you saw that!"

I've tweeted Gail Simone, a well known comic book author and she kindly retweeted my comic Kickstarter :) I'm not sure if it will necessarily bring much to the site, but it was still very kind of her and put a smile on my face :P

I like the FB message idea. Although, FB seems a bit more intrusive than tweeter, so maybe they are more likely to feel it's spam. Good for trying anyway!

I think this forum should have a like button for messages!

do you ask for a direct and blatant 'please post this to your twitter stream'? or do you just ask them something related to their field, in hopes that your user name only gets mentioned/replied to in their stream? I think the latter would likely be most effective. Twitter: Puzzometry

I don't ask. I just say “Hi <name>, I love your <music> and I know you love technology too, may you like this <link>”. I believe that if they truly like it they'll back it and share it, if they don't truly like it they are not going to do anything where you ask or not.
