The addage is true: the majority of our backers are friends

Our project - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/th ... -edinburgh - is 91% funded in just over ten days, but we have found that it is the majority of our friends who have been backing us rather than total strangers.

Having said that we haven't made a fully concentrated effort to get the project out into the world as other people may have. What has helped though is that our project has a cast and crew of nearly 40 people, so our target base was very broad when we started out. We can only imagine how hard it must be to crowdfund a project on your own.

Oh wow, that's a great team to draw from. 91% is also a good position to be in considering you have 16 days to go. What strategy did you use when organizing your team to do outreach? Asking them to direct email or fb message friends?

I can confirm that it is difficult to crowdfund a project on our own haha. Attracting people's attention is much much harder than we thought.

@quinoa - Agreed. It's easiest if you have some kind of pre-built up email list or audience.
