Non-traditional Video for Album campaign

Hello,

I play in a band from Minneapolis, and we are seeking to fund most of the production of our album that we recently finished recording. We released a single to launch the campaign and I made an album mashup set to surreal footage that serves as our kickstarter video. Do you think it was a good idea to showcase our creative artistry more with both film/music, or does it make it seem less personal without a video talking about the project?

We are off to an OK start to the campaign, but I've haven't received much feedback on any of it. Would love to hear some thoughts !

Hmm.... I interviewed a music campaign a while ago. They raised 10k and were high school students and had some really great tips that might be helpful: http://www.crowdcrux.com/learn-how-thes ... f-capital/

I would definitely recommend having a video for the project. I'm not sure about Kickstarter, but on Indiegogo, campaign with videos typically raise 100% more than campaigns without videos.
