I was on Fox News about my project!

My name is Ryan and I just launched my first Kickstarter project. I decided to start it now because 18 is the minimum age to create a Kickstarter project. I've actually been wanting to start one for awhile because I love Kickstarter and think it is an amazing platform for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Here's the link: http://foxct.com/2014/05/27/brookfield- ... arter-com/

I would really appreciate any advice/suggestions about my project. It was funded on the first day and now I'm trying to figure out how to continue the momentum.

Thanks!
Ryan

Congrats! That is wonderful. Now can you think of stretch goals? Like doing coasters for your school?

Thanks Ms. Larsen! I was trying to brainstorm some ideas for stretch goals! I'm not sure what you mean by doing coasters for my school, could you please clarify?

Thanks again!

Sure. You can do any pattern, right? So, now is graduation. Just send a letter to every school in your area:
If they will fund you, you could make their school mascot on their coasters for cost. Then they can sell those coasters as a fundraiser. I am going to do something similar on my project--I'll sell the Rose Love greeting cards at cost to schools, organizations, etc. so they can sell as a fund raiser. see http://tinyurl.com/greet-rose for my project.

And I'd love to get your ideas on mine--all the artwork was done by high school kids in South Africa, and 10% of the royalties will go to fund a scholar in South Africa. http://www.thinkingrose.com/community/rose-scholar.html

Congrats on getting funded so quickly @ryan. I'd also recommend beginning to brainstorm some stretch goals you can incorporate into the project! I saw some of your backers you also backed. Did you find that to be an effective marketing tactic at all?

Thank you Mr. Briggman! I definitely am brainstorming some stretch goals. And if I ran across another project that I was on the fence on about backing I would message them asking if they would consider backing mine, and it worked out twice that projects backed eachother! Other projects I simply backed to support that project, and that creator decided to back mine as well.

Um...Have you developed a tracking system for getting these correctly to folks? This sounds like it might be a nightmare if not well managed!

The biggest challenge of this project is making sure every backer gets exactly what they want. To assure this, after I have printed your images on the absorbent pads, I will email pictures to each backer with your absorbent pads in different colored bases. You can then tell me your favorite combination. This process will make sure everyone is happy, and that backers are involved in choosing and describing to me exactly what they want.

I also need to make sure the pictures people send me are not licensed/copyrighted by someone else. I certainly don't want to get in trouble for producing a coaster without the permission of the owner of the picture.

Yes, I have made sure to have a good system already in place!

@ryan @deena - If you guys haven't heard of BackerKit, that's also a good tool to manage post-Kickstarter mayhem: https://backerkit.com/

I had not heard of BackerKit, that could be very helpful. Thanks!
