So what are some ways to pull your project up on the kickstarter page? Any golden tips?

There are two different ways to do that:

1. Be selected as "Projects We Love" (projects sorted by default Kickstarter criteria "magic"). Here are tips from Kickstarter on how to earn "Projects We Love" badge: https://www.kickstarter.com/blog/how-to ... ickstarter
2. Become a "Trending" project (projects sorted by "popularity"). I'll add more details on this one.

Popularity is an algorithm that creators try to hack. Kickstarter does not reveal this algorithm and its dynamics (how often it refreshes in the search) for obvious reasons. However, there are a few known factors that influence the rankings of specific projects.

An investigation performed by Prefundia (http://prefundia.com/blog/hacking-kicks ... t-popular/) shows that the most heavily weighted metric within this algorithm is number of backers per day. Suppose there are two identical projects and the first one has ten backers who pledged $100 each (total amount 10*100 = $1,000) and the other project has received one pledge of $1,000. The first one will get a higher “Popularity” ranking because even though the raised amount was the same, it attracted more backers in the same period. According to Prefundia, the percent funded and total amount raised are the next drivers, though their impact is significantly less weighty.

Another metric, which may influence the “Popularity” algorithm, is traffic volume to a project page within a certain time and traffic conversion rate (the better it converts, the higher the project appears in the Kickstarter search). Even though I cannot guarantee this is true, it does make sense—Kickstarter earns commissions from all successful projects, so it’s in their interest to attract new visitors and get the best possible conversion rate.

So what conclusions can we make here? Prepare the mailing list of your potential backers, establish relations with influencers, pitch journalists, and perform other actions that may bring people to your campaign. Now you know that every backer counts, so don’t forget to encourage your friends and family to support your project with at least a $1 pledge on day one. Everything else will be out of your control. If you appear higher in your category—great. If not—there’s no need to worry.

Amazing, thanks for the response! That makes sense, I will work on gaining more traction on the site.
Cheers!
