kickstarter VS Indiegogo

Indiegogo was actually the first crowdfunding platform and kickstarter starter a few years after. But now people associate the term crowdfunding with kickstarter. Why do you think that happened?

I don't think the company's worth depends on the date of launch. There were many search engines before Google, but Google's the best search engine now. In the similar way, Kickstarter has been innovative and helped many creative brains get funded.

It seems that kickstarter is a bit more polished while indiegogo is more open. Its almost iOS versus Android. haha

I feel that KS has outgrown indie and is much bigger. From what I see projects have a greater success rate on KS so more people tend to gravitate towards KS

I really wish that Kickstarter would open up their projects to entrepreneurs and other avenues of business outside of just creative projects.

Then again, it's not necessarily like their particular business model is hurting. I would just love to tap into that KS traffic!

I agree Justen,

KS has great traffic and some projects there get backers that are just browsing projects. This never happens with Indiegogo. My project is struggling right now!!!!

Priscilla,

You IGG page looks great though. You've done a wonderful job at maximizing the campaign story.

KS has a dedicated Fashion section. Have you ever tried your campaign there? I bet the community there would love a story and effort like yours! No shame in running another campaign once this is over. Make sure to have your funding goal be something modest and reasonable though so you can receive the funds! KS may have great traffic, but it's worthless to help fundraise if you fall short of your goal!

Best of luck!

Thank you Justen,

I see that you recently lanched yours as well. Good luck! Yes, I will relaunch on KS after with a smaller goal maybe next year, I don't make it with this one.

Thank you!

We started ours on Kickstarter because I thought it was simply more popular.
